The Zen mp3 was at the top of my son's list. It was easy to find on Amazon.com. The price was better than any I have seen and free shipped made it the choice for me. The Zen is a cool MP3 player. It has a nice screen and feels like a quality product. My son is very happy with it and so am I. I will get a case for it so it will stay nice and new looking. I bought two for my kids for Christmas and they can't put them down. The 4 gb holds plenty of music and the graphics are great. It hold over 30 hours of media and their website is easy to use. I have owned this unit for a little over a year now and I am still glad I went with the purchase. The unit itself is very user friendly and has a lot of features you don't get standard with an iPod like, fm tuner and voice recorder. Again, this unit is very easy to use and is small enough to not be a hassle, but still seems to be very sturdy. I would recommend using a case to keep from scratching the screen. I installed Rockbox on this player and now I can use the 8gb micro sdhc cards on it, so I have a 10gb Sansa C250, and only cost me $35 for the 8gb card. Bigger than the nano, but smaller than the huge touch. It is the size of a credit card, literally. I love mine, the screen is adequate enough to watch videos on. The only problem is that the player can freeze numerous times during the first few months of use... but that's easily fixable via a recovery tool that comes with it if you just look at creative's website. ...more

It not only plays mp3's it also has a mic to make recordings on it and it has a FM tuner. He loves that he can listen to the radio on it.
